Box Elder County, Utah

Project Profile

State Graphic Utah

Challenge: Box Elder County needed a severe structural rehabilitation of a failing 1-mile paved corridor. Performing a traditional, high-cost dig-out or using rigid Portland Cement for stabilization were both pricey and labor intensive options. Instead, they performed a Full Depth Reclamation using Perma-Zyme to stabilize the reclaimed roadway material.

Results: By incorporating Perma-Zyme into the reclaimed pavement and native subgrade, Box Elder County created a stronger, more stable road base while improving compaction. This significantly reduced the total construction hours, offering immediate labor and equipment cost savings. After the subbase cured, a standard chipseal top coat was then applied directly to the Perma-Zyme stabilized road, delivering a long-term, high-durability paved surface at a fraction of the cost of traditional reconstruction.
